About us
Styrian Summer Art was founded in 2005 on the initiative of Michaela Zingerle and Eftichia Schlamadinger. Our vision was to create a high-quality and diverse range of art workshops for adults, children and young people in Styria. In the first year, the art courses took place in Frohnleiten and were already very well attended. Since 2007, the Pöllauer Tal Nature Park has been the main location for our summer art workshops in Austria.
As an independent, non-profit cultural association, Styrian Summer Art is managed by Michaela Zingerle as chairwoman.
We are a member of IG Kultur and actively promote the visibility and communication of contemporary art in the independent cultural scene. Our projects combine culture in the countryside with contemporary art and offer local cultural activities in Styria.
At the same time, we promote European networking through programs such as Creative Europe and LEADER and are committed to art in the Alps-Adriatic region. You can find an overview of our current and completed cultural projects here: Kulturprojekte
As a member of Styria Tourism's "Kulturgenuss im Grünen" we contribute to the positioning of Styria as an art and culture destination.
Since 2020, Styrian Summer Art has been evaluated annually for certification as a "Green Event” and has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel for this. We have also implemented the child protection concept of the Open Youth Work Network in order to assume social responsibility beyond our artistic goals.
