Styrian Summer Art artists in dialogue
Based on the idea of "Slow Art", we invite you to spend three evenings intensively examining a small number of works by one artist at a time, followed by a discussion about the work, the artistic career and the creative process, and to discuss any resulting questions with the artist.
For the second dialogue in our series, we welcome the Graz-based jewellery and textile artist Doris Maninger. Doris Maninger, born in Graz, is a versatile artist and experienced educator with extensive knowledge in various artistic and craft disciplines. She is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and has specialised in restoration, traditional craft techniques and contemporary goldsmithing throughout her career.
Doris Maninger is co-founder of Alchimia - School of Contemporary Jewellery Art in Florence, Italy (director until 2018). She runs workshops and courses in various aspects of jewellery making and design (in the USA, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Italy, Denmark, Holland, Germany) and works as a consultant and educational designer (DSAF,Designstudio Azza Fahmy Cairo, Egypt).in June Doris Maninger will hold a jewellery art workshop at the farben.formen.festival.
