Experience Beethoven's Eroica as a sound artist!

No symphony concert to sit still for! This year, a very special Styriarte highlight will be broadcast: ‘Ludwig van Beethoven: EROICA’. The Styriarte Youth Orchestra and conductor Mei-Ann Chen will light a fire on 14 July with Beethoven's heroic 3rd Symphony; choreographed by Adrian Schvarzstein and Jūratė Širvytė.

Visitors to Pöllau will have the opportunity to experience the magic of the sounds during the performance and at the same time follow their own creative impulses, with ceramic artist Sieglinde Hofbauer providing inspiring suggestions on how to express the musical impressions in clay before the performance begins. The necessary material will be provided and every listener will have the opportunity to create Beethoven's Eroica in clay. Visitors will take the material provided and be inspired by the sounds of the Klangwolke. They are guided by the diverse rhythms and melodies. With their eyes closed or in a playful manner, they create their own ceramic sculpture, which reflects their personal impressions and emotions, with the option of having the ceramic sculpture fired by the artist. The sculpture becomes a finished work of art in the kiln, while the memories of the sound cloud continue to resonate in the minds of the visitors.

Sieglinde Hofbauer was born in Eastern Styria.  She lives and works in Pöllau near Hartberg as a ceramist, artist and social worker, earning a recognised ‘Diploma in Arts - Major Ceramics’ after an eight-year stay and three-year course of study at the Sydney Institute of Technology in Australia. Her stay in Australia is also reflected in her art. The influence of two worlds characterises her ceramic art and makes it unique.sonderen Werken.
