Workshop description:

In this workshop we want to tell a story through painting, with plenty of room for interpretation so that the viewers can find their own interpretations.

We start with the atmosphere: Where should the story begin? Who or what is it about? Do we make this journey together, do we already have a destination in mind? Photos and newspaper cuttings, things we have brought ourselves or materials from the artist's collection serve as a starting point. These are spontaneously processed with acrylic paints into generous, expressive compositions to suggest a story. A willingness to take risks in abstraction is required, and the aim is to discover one's own visual language and allow it to flow, rather than creating a photorealistic image.

‘As a course leader, I will guide you by giving general advice on composition, colour choice and technique.’
