Introduction to three-dimensional braiding and crocheting with wire

In this workshop, you will learn the techniques of crocheting and weaving with wire to create individual pieces of jewelry. These creative methods offer countless variations and are suitable for working with a variety of wires, including copper, brass, silver, gold, iron and aluminum.

We start with practical exercises in copper and brass wire to master the basics of the techniques. We then put what we have learned into practice and create one or more pieces of jewelry. Simply learning techniques without putting them into practice often leaves a feeling of incompleteness and what has been learned is quickly forgotten. Direct implementation consolidates the knowledge and reveals the numerous possible variations.

While completing their pieces of jewelry, participants often encounter small challenges that raise important questions and inspire creative ideas for future projects. At the end of the workshop, they not only take home a finished piece of jewelry, but also valuable suggestions and new impulses for their own design practice.
