Workshop description:
In this course you can really get to grips with modeling animals. You can build an animal sculpture or a box with an animal head. You can make vessels and decorate them with animals or perhaps you already have an idea of your own that you would like to realize. The finished objects can be painted with clay paints and fired in an electric kiln at 960 degrees after complete drying.
On Thursday at 3 p.m. there will be a final exhibition to which all parents, relatives and friends are cordially invited.

Workshop leader
Barbara Schmid, born in Bregenz, is a ceramicist and visual artist who studied at the University of Art and Industrial Design Linz, Department of Plastic Concepts/Ceramics and has been working in the art studios of the city of Graz in the former Taggerwerk since 2015. In her work, she focuses on the material clay with its diverse forms of appearance and condition and uses them to explore themes between society and art, including study visits abroad to Katsuyuki Sakazume in Nakajo, Japan, who had a lasting influence on her early artistic work. Barbara Schmid has also received the Performance Scholarship of the University of Art and Design Linz, the Prize of the City of Varazdin, Keramik Multiplex and represented Austria at the "European Ceramic Context” in Bornholm, Denmark.
