Workshop description:
History lives - even our history, what we have experienced so far lives. It lives in us. And there are many stories that live within us. Events, people, places.
By remembering and writing down, through the resonance of the group, by comparing our own and others' experiences, we gain new perspectives. Forgotten details emerge and we can recognise meaningful connections. By writing, we penetrate our own past and make it our own anew: We write and write away. We overwrite and rewrite. We remember things we have heard, a smell, the taste of grandmother's cake or the tickle of a blade of grass on our bare legs.
In this workshop, we work with writing exercises in which we experiment with different time levels and narrative perspectives. In this writing workshop, you will learn to use literary examples to write your way into your own pastto use language to explore your own world, to understand your own personalityto conjure up memories that seemed lost.
Please bring along:
Some photos from your childhood
Please also bring: Small objects that are meaningful to you, perfume bottles, dried flowers, a lock of hair, a knife that you played with as a child, a feather pen, etc., that remind you of a moment in your life, of small life stages and encounters (the object does not have to be old, i.e. from that time).

Workshop leader:
Erika Kronabitter, born 1959 in Hartberg/Styria, studied comparative literature/ German studies/ art history. Trained as a Gestalt pedagogue, writes poetry and prose, most recently: Delfine vor Venedig, Lyrik, Melos Verlag. Translations of her work into Spanish, Italian and Romanian. Several prizes.
She has organised the internationally renowned Feldkirch Poetry Prize since 2003 and conceived the Feldkirch Literature Station.
Lives and works as a freelance author, video and visual artist in Austria.
