Folk singing reloaded - Yodeling workshop with Heidi Clementi

Workshop description:

Yodels have been passed down orally for centuries. Yodels are folk songs, they know no composer, they have been created and passed on in the common "Zsammsingen” and "Zubiterzeln.” We want to revive this tradition in this workshop. We will learn how to yodel, the typical yodeling sound in the voice, learn traditional yodels and be inspired by them. We will immerse ourselves in the sounds of the Alps, feel the typical harmonies, let them have an effect on us and create new yodels and new songs together.

The workshop takes place both indoors and outdoors. We hike in the nature park, linger in beautiful meadows and pastures, discover the forest as a sound space and explore church rooms and chapels with our yodelers.

At the end of the workshop, we want to give an interested audience a little insight into our yodeling workshop and invite them to yodel with us.

Everyone who is curious and "a bit brave” is invited. No singing skills are necessary, nor are they a hindrance. Folk singing is for everyone, because "those who can walk can dance and those who can talk can learn to sing or yodel” (an African proverb that we are very happy to adopt).
